communion
nzingha kendall
Originally conceived as visual accompaniment to an improvised musical performance by cellist Tomeka Reid, Communion is a film about connection. Using my mobile phone and a super 8 camera, I documented my forays into the natural world. In cutting and reassembling this footage I attempt to elicit a haptic experience through the visual. Guided by an excerpt of a poem by Ross Gay, this visual experiment wonders if we might be able to touch the natural world — and have it touch us.
